Band Info

Atlanta Rhythm Section has been part of the Southern Rock scene for more than 30 years. Their chart making hits include "So Into You" (#7, 1977), "Champagne Jam," "Imaginary Lover" ( #7, 1978), "Spooky" (#17, 1979), "I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight" (#14, 1978), "Do It Or Die" (#14, 1978) . But there's so much more. The band was originally part of Roy Orbison's backing band and contributors to Georgia's thriving studio scene, the members of the Atlanta Rhythm Section married their polished chops to the rough-and-tumble blues and Southern-fried rock of the Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd. But while the Allmans espoused a jazz-tinged style, the Atlanta Rhythm Section took their boogie swing style in another direction.

Atlanta Rhythm Section has produced 15 albums of outstanding songwriting and performances and numerous hit singles. Plus here's the beauty of it all, our Party in the Park dancers will certainly enjoy the smooth rhythms that help define their unique musical style. The Atlanta Rhythm Section represents all the good things the phrase "classic southern rock" implies and will be an exciting way to kick off the award winning BB&T Party in the Park season. EventZone is pleased to have ARS open the Party in the Park season on the big stage used for Festival in the Park.
